RAPUNZEL BY TRISH COOKE AND ROBERT HYMAN

Theatre Royal Stratford East Panto 2017

IMG_0435.JPG

This Panto combined the well known stories of Rapunzel and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.  We took a traditional form of storytelling and put a contemporary twist on it. My vision, along with that of Trish Cooke and Robert Hyman (book and lyrics), highlighted the feminine by removing the hierarchy of the typical prince; we focused the narrative on female empowerment - creating a collaboration about sisterhood, diversity and how these principles can and do work together.
