I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door - or I'll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.

In this global climate of division and fear, theatre can and should declare its role as being a space for inclusivity and representation.

We have to open up the dialogue, challenge our perceptions of leadership and excellence, and in doing so bring more relevant voices to the table. The more equal representation we see in our programming and theatre buildings, the richer our theatre ecology becomes. By sharing our collective histories and perspectives, we build awareness, become accountable and align ourselves to and with each other.
